Double Brick Cavity Insulation Installation Guide
Simple step by step guide to installing Foilboard® Double Brick Cavity Insulation Installation
Step 1
Construct inner skin / Face of brickwork including brick-ties as necessary and push the Foilboard® spacers over each tie.
Step 2
Press the Foilboard® GREEN rigid insulation panel firmly against the brick-ties so as to leave an impression (with the GREEN anti-glare surface facing outward).
Step 3
Make a small cut through the Foilboard® GREEN rigid insulation panel where the brick-tie impressions have been made, using a sharp blade.
Step 4
Slide the Foilboard® GREEN panel over brick ties and tape all joins.
Step 5
Finish constructing the remaining external skin of brick work.
Required to install
Use Foilboard® foam spacer blocks to ensure the correct positioning in a cavity wall
Use Foilboard® Green joining tape

Foilboard ® Tips
- Using a longer snap blade will aid in ensuring the slit goes through the panel properly
- Start with the areas that can use full sheets (saving time and unnecessary cutting)
- Fit in remaining sections with smaller off-cuts, to help minimise waste
- For measuring and cutting, use the Foilboard® gridlines as a guide
- Use a foam or soft rubber roller over taped joins, to promote optimal adhesion
- Foilboard® recommends also taping around the brick-ties to minimise air leakage
